Handmade Monday is a lovely way to share what handmade items fellow bloggers have been working on all week. Wendy at 1st Unique Gifts started this a few weeks ago, and since I have this Monday off work, thought I'd take part :)
I've tried something completely different this week and am quite chuffed with the result! I was online buying some silver chain for an order I have at work and discovered at check out that there was a minimum spend! Normally I click off and find another site to purchase from, but really whilst having a mooch found something that intrigued me - so bought it!
What do you think of my very first watch...
The watch face is the item I purchased, and I have used some sterling silver chain with Swarovski crystals added along it for the strap. It does up with a lobster clasp and sits beautifully on the wrist.
It does slip round the wrist occasionally, so will have to try and find a way to counter this in future, but if I move it just below my wrist so it slightly sits on my hand, it doesn't move at all :)
While you're over at 1st Unique Gifts, have a look at all the other blogs taking part and add them to your blog reading list if not done all ready!
By the way, I plan to do a 50 follower giveaway when I get to that magic number, so watch this space for an announcement shortly :)
Thanks for reading x
The watch looks lovely :) I make a point of wearing mine loose so that's not necessarily a problem for people :)
ReplyDeleteThe watch is beautiful, I do not wear a watch often but when I do it is loose too
ReplyDeleteI wear mine loose too so I wouldn't worry too much about it x
ReplyDeleteI like my watch snug on my wrist but what I do is make it snug and offer an extension chain to the customer. Lovely watch though
ReplyDeleteThe watch looks beautiful. When I do wear one I have mine loose on my wrist so wouldn't be a problem for me.

Oh, I absolutely love this! I love watches that don't have a belt type band (not sure of the technical term!) but a chain type like this. This is just gorgeous! I like to fiddle with mine, and the snug band bothers me.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely watch and I love the way you've photographed it too - very stylish!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in Handmade Monday!
Thanks for all the lovely comments :) I guess if you wanted it tighter you could just attach the clasp to another point on the chain. I think I'll order a few more and have a play!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the watch is beautiful. I'm not a jewellery expert but the suggestions above sound a good idea :) Look forward to hearing more soon!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely darling
ReplyDeleteI love the watch, it's more like a bracelet which is what appeals to me. Well done
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I am really really rough on watches and always destroy them.. along with most jewelery! Wear it well dear! <3

Very nice watch! I had a go with some once but I could never decide if I wanted to complete the strap with chain, beads or elastic. In the end I just buy the ones that other people make hehehe. Easier for me but not my bank balance.
